The mission of the Executive Office is to:
  • Implement the County Board's policies
  • Represent the interests of the county with other governmental agencies and groups
  • Provide leadership to the departments to achieve the organization's goals and objectives

County Manager

The County Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of Cumberland County government. The County Manager:
  • Advises the Board of Commissioners on policy matters
  • Implements policies established by the board
  • Provides facts and data on county government to other governmental agencies, the state legislature, interested groups and individuals

Assistant County Manager

The Assistant County Manager:
  • Provides assistance with the day-to-day management of the county
  • Serves as the legislative liaison at the state house for Cumberland County and the region
  • Serves as the public relations coordinator
In addition, the Assistant County Manager represents the County Manager and commissioners in local, regional and statewide meetings.

Domestic Violence Coordinator

The Domestic Violence Coordinator reports to the County Manager. Her major responsibility is coordination of the Violence Intervention Partnership Council which consists of representatives from the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office, the municipal police departments, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Domestic Violence Agency Representatives, and other key stakeholders.

  • Training in police departments

Grants & Special Projects Liaison

The Grants & Special Projects Liaison has made a major contribution to the County, with over $3 million dollars in federal and state funding received during the past 3 years, including community development block grant (CDBG) funds to help our communities meet important economic development, public infrastructure and housing needs.

In addition, grant funds have been awarded that have enabled Cumberland County, in collaboration with our municipalities, to examine new opportunities for improving our local public health system and investigate the possibilities of a regional tax assessing system.
