Where do I go to get a copy of a marriage license?
Copies of marriage licenses are obtained from the city or town where the bride and groom reside. If both are residents of the state of Maine, then each registers in their town of residence. If one is from out of state, then they both register in the town where one holds residency. If neither one is a resident of the state of Maine, then both must register in the town where the ceremony is to take place.
