Director William "Bill" Holmes
Bill Holmes is a 28 year veteran of Cumberland County. Bill has served the citizens of the County for 21 years as a member of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and for 7 years as the Emergency Communications Director.
During his career in law enforcement, Bill served as a corrections officer, a communications officer, a patrolman, a patrol supervisor, a detective and was promoted to the rank of Captain. As a Captain, Bill supervised the criminal investigations division as well as other divisions within the department.
Bill also served the department as a Hate / Bias crime investigator, Firearms instructor and as the departments Internal Affairs investigator.
Bill has earned an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement Technology from SMCC and is a Veteran of the United States Navy.
As the County’s Emergency Communications director Bill is committed to providing the citizens of Cumberland County and the Public Safety agencies served by the County with the highest possible standards in emergency communications service.
Bill and his wife Lori have two daughters.
