District 1 - Commissioner Neil D. Jamieson, Jr.

Representing Baldwin, Bridgton, Gorham, Scarborough, Sebago, and Standish

District 1Commissioner Jamieson was elected to the Cumberland County Charter Committee in 2008 and worked on drafting and passing the charter that was passed in 2010. Neil graduated from Bates College and the University Of Maine School Of Law. He is a partner in the law firm of Prescott Jamieson Nelson & Murphy, LLC with offices in Portland and Saco. His practice focuses on matrimonial law and civil trial law. Neil was elected and served as Chair of the Young Lawyers and Family Law Sections of the Maine State Bar Association, has served on the Board of Governors of the Maine Bar and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mr. Jamieson was selected by Governor Baldacci and served on the Judicial Selection Committee from 2003-2010. He has lectured throughout his career at legal seminars for the Maine Bar.

Commissioner Jamieson has been involved in a variety of service organizations. He was elected and served as President of the Bates College Alumni Association. He also received the Distinguished Young Alumni Award for Bates. He has served on the Kids First Board of Directors for 10 years, including serving as President. Neil has served on the Scarborough Soccer Club Board where he has coached and currently is the Tournament Director. He has coached in the Scarborough Young Lacrosse Club and he is currently the Vice President of the Scarborough High School Lacrosse Boosters. Neil resides in Scarborough with his wife Heather and their two daughters. 

 

His current term expires in 2024.
