Violence Intervention Program Current Objectives

Improve services to elder victims and specialized training for law enforcement by Family Crisis Services Elder Abuse Victim Advocate;
-
Continue efforts to develop workplace violence policies with partner agencies, municipalities, and local businesses;

Improve information management between police, bail commissioners and the court;

Participate in DV Court Case Coordination Project to coordinate civil and criminal dockets, and judicial monitoring, using a dedicated Probation Officer;

Continue outreach to victims in the refugee and immigrant communities, including support for language line services;

Provide outreach and advocacy for incarcerated victims of domestic violence by Family Crisis Services Incarcerated Women’s Advocate;

Continue to collaborate with healthcare providers, including training for individual providers in partnership with the Physicians for Social Responsibility;

Increase focus on stalking with continued distribution of stalking kits and training;
with the help of new partner State Street United Church of Christ, train leaders and members of communities of faith on the topic of religion as a resource for domestic violence victims; and -
Collaborate with disability advocates and service providers to identify the needs of domestic violence victims with disabilities, and assist these underserved victims while promoting their safety and independence.
