CCSO Marine Patrol Unit

Five years ago, the Town of Harpswell entered into an agreement whereby the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office would enforce town ordinances and the state laws pertaining to shellfish harvesting. The Marine Patrol Division is comprised of two deputies specifically trained to enforce shellfish violations within the Town of Harpswell as well as the islands within the town's boundaries. The Marine Patrol is supported by 4-wheel drive vehicles and a 17 foot boat, which facilitate access to those areas prone to shellfish violations.
