Intake

The Cumberland County Jail Intake Department processes all new inmates. Intake is also responsible for releasing inmates when their sentences are up and/or the inmate makes bail. There are many parts to the Intake process. Booking, Classifications, and Medical Screening are the three major components to the Intake department. All new inmates are "booked" by our booking team and then sent to Medical for their medical evaluation. All new inmates are also evaluated for security risks and/or special needs by a Classification Technician and then assigned to the appropriate pod.
