The County Commissioners and County Manager decided a few years ago that Cumberland County as a Government and a region needed representation at the State Legislature, to help understand and support or oppose legislation affecting the area. Bill Whitten was chosen for that position, as part of his Assistant County Manager duties. Each session he meets at the State House on a regular basis with our Legislators to attempt to bring the delegation tgether to support the region. They hold bi weekly meetings, and a monthly meeting with the York County delegation to find ways we can support the entire South Coastal Maine Region. This has proven successful over the past years and will continue.
Each week, this will be updated by Assistant County Manager and "lobbyist" Bill Whitten, as to what is happening in the Legislature.
Should you have any questions or comments, please forward them to Bill Whitten.
