Cumberland County Deeds
The Registry of Deeds is the County office which serves the public by recording all documents related to the ownership of real estate such as mortgages, contracts, deeds, lien, and mapping plans.
Recorded documents are assigned a sequential identifying number known as the book and page number and are then scanned into the Registry’s computer system. The resulting images are available for viewing and printing from public access terminals at the registry and at your home or office over the internet at www.mainelandrecords.com. These land records go back to 1965. From 1760-1964 all recorded documents can be found in record books at the registry containing document images on paper. All recorded documents are microfilmed. Original documents are returned to the land owner. To assist customers in finding relevant documents, the Registry has available a searchable index that contains the names of all parties to a document.
The Registry of Deeds is open for business from 8-4:30 Monday through Friday in room 110. The copy desk is open from 8-4:15 and research can be conducted from 8-4:30 Monday through Friday in room 116.
