Charter Commission Members
The Charter Commission had nine members: two elected from each of the three county commissioner districts, and the county commissioners appointed one member from each district. Of the appointed members, one had to be a county commissioner, one had to be a state legislator, one had to be an elected municipal official, and no more than two could be of one party.
District 1:
Elected: John Eder, Portland; Kathleen Babeu, Cumberland
Appointed: Rep. Meredith Strang Burgess
District 2:
Elected: Neil Jamieson, Scarborough; Claude Morgan, South Portland
Appointed: County Commissioner Richard "Dick" Feeney, South Portland
District 3:
Elected: David Lunt, New Gloucester; Steve Gorden
Appointed: Lisa Villa, Harrison Selectperson
