The Cumberland County Animal Response Team (CCART) currently has 34 members. The members have been very busy over the last six months.

February: We staffed an informational booth at the Home Show at the Civic Rescues on the RunwayCenter. This is our second year at this event.

March: We participated in the first annual Rescues on the Runway at the Maine Mall. This was a huge success for participants and Rescue Animals.

April: Members attended and staffed an information booth at the Maine Prepares Conference in Augusta.

Large Animal OrientationMay 12: 15 of our members attended a Large Animal Orientation Class at Riding to the Top Therapy Center in Windham.

June: We had an informational booth at Bark in the Park at the Topsham Fairground.
We staffed a table at the Dock Dog event held at Cabels' in Scarborough.

June 30-July 2nd 4 Members attended the 3 day TLAER (Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue) Class held this year in Windham.

The members meet once a month January through October. Taking November and December off due to holiday season.

We have acquired 4 new members this year bringing our total to 34. The members are very dedicated to the team and try and participate in as much training as their work schedules allow.

Some of our members have volunteered over the last few months to help out area shelters when hoarded animals have been brought in and the regular staff cannot deal with the volume of work required to care for and rehabilitate these animals.
